100th Post! College Censorship, Speech Codes, and American Universities
"Speech codes. Censorship. Enforced political conformity. Hostility to diversity of opinion. Sensitivity training. We usually associate such things with the worst excesses of fascism and communism, not with the American universities that nurtured the free speech movement. But American higher education bears a disturbing resemblance to the totalitarian societies that are anathema to our nation's ideal of liberty. Evan Coyne Maloney's documentary film, Indoctrinate U, reveals the breathtaking institutional intolerance you won't read about in the glossy marketing brochures of Harvard, Berkeley, Michigan, Yale, and hundreds of other American colleges and universities. "
"While talking with students in the quad at Columbia, Evan was approached by two police officers who demanded a permit before allowing us to continue filming. So we paid a visit to the office that grants such permission to willing sycophants, and the whole experience left us wondering whether filming at Columbia was any easier than filming in, say, Venezuela..."Columbia Quiz," http://indoctrinate-u.com/pages/inside.html#columbia-quiz, shows what happens when you ask the inconvenient questions about academia."--from Inside Indoctrinate U

I'm testing the comment button--it works! The Indoctrinate U. video at the link really cracked me up! If this is just an out-take, I can't wait to see the movie! Definitely not politically correct--a true modern day David vs. Goliath story.

I suppose I shant be suprised considering the other stories I have read about college professors using class time to espouse their political viewpoints and belittle Christians. Kent State has a professor of history who is under investigation by the FBI for aiding terrorists. My instructor in a business class was bashing Pres. Bush in class just 2 weeks ago. I had to bite my tongue because I want to pass the class.

Ahmadenijad (who has a history that includes involvement in the kidnapping American diplomats) is speaking at Columbia--what does that say about "higher" education? See http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/blog.

How difficult is it to succeed in college, for conservative Christians? For studies and information on mandatory political indoctrination in higher education, visit the National Association of Scholars, http://www.nas.org/.
In addition, George Will's recent column notes: "Schools' mission statements, student manuals and course descriptions are clotted with the vocabulary of "progressive" cant -- "diversity," "inclusion," "classism," "ethnocentrism," "racism," "sexism," "heterosexism," "ageism," "white privilege," "ableism," "contextualizes subjects," "cultural imperialism," "social identities and positionalities," "biopsychosocial" problems, "a just share of society's resources," and on and on. What goes on under the cover of this miasma of jargon? Just what the American Association of University Professors warned against in its 1915 "Declaration of Principles" -- teachers "indoctrinating" students."
